About

Parent & Community Member

I am a 16-year resident of Inver Grove Heights. My husband and I have two children in the ISD 199 School District at Pine Bend Elementary and Simley High School (incoming as a 9th grader). I am a self-proclaimed “Band Mom” and when not walking along the Simley marching band with water bottles, I’m likely at the baseball field cheering on the Spartans. My children have benefited from the partnership of our district’s teachers, administrators, and the school board. I would be honored to give back by continuing to use my time and talents in support of the School Board.

Education & Professional Experience

As an HR practitioner, I am a seasoned-listener and have developed a strength in conflict resolution and mediation. My experience as an adjunct professor / associate lecturer has allowed me a glimpse of classroom management and curriculum development, as well as a few of the challenges that educators face. These challenges require a School Board that is listening to the community, committed to increasing safety in our schools and purposeful in crafting policies that will support students, teachers and administrators. I believe these are critical times for public education and it would be a great responsibility and honor to continue representing the Inver Grove Heights community members by serving on the School Board.

I bring a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) to this role. I am an alumna of University of Wisconsin – River Falls.

Collaborative. Advocate. Accountable.

Collaborative – I work collaboratively with my fellow board members to achieve the best results for all students in Inver Grove Heights. I come to this position without political motivation and from the standpoint of making our schools stronger, our students more prepared and our administrators / teachers more equipped.

Advocate – I will listen and advocate for the community members of Inver Grove Heights. Whether you have students enrolled in the schools or not, I am your representative and interested in hearing your concerns so I can advocate, issue an informed vote and build community.

Accountable – I am accountable to the community and the students, as that is who we serve. If you ask a question or feel you were not heard / represented, I am accountable to help you get to the right place. When voting on policies, I am accountable to all students as my vote will represent what is in the interest of ISD 199 serving all students.
